These hip young artists are making their way from the music capital to Zionsville for a night that will pay homage to the town where many of them have roots from their childhood days. Plus, a percentage of ticket proceeds will go to support local charities that help others in need in the Boone County area.

If you're not already a following fan of these artists, be prepared to recognize some of their indie rock hits as well as other tunes that have premiered on popular television shows. Read below for more information on the artists and then join them, Zionsville residents and out-of-town visitors as we prepare to rock on and have fun as the heat turns up in Central Indiana for Super Bowl Sunday.

About Roman Candle
Formed in 1997 at the University of North Carolina, this rock and roll band consists of members Logan, Timshel and Skip Matheny (Skip and Logan are brothers, Skip and Timshel are married). They released their debut, Says Pop (2002), and began touring across the U.S. Rolling Stone picked up on Roman Candle's earthy pop, calling them Chapel Hill's "darling" band on the rise. On the release of their album The Wee Hours Revue (2006), they earned critical plaudits from many major media outlets including The Boston Globe that called the album "a stunner." Pitchfork's (Pitchfork.com) Grayson Currin said "Roman Candle is one of the best, most complete American rock bands to surface in a decade." The band moved to their current home Nashville in 2007. They began an artist on artist interview series called 'Drinks With' for American Songwriter in 2010. The summer of 2011 saw the band undertake a nationwide house concert tour, traveling from coast to coast writing and trying out new material for their upcoming full-length. Roman Candle is currently at work on their new album, due out in 2012.

  About Bryan Cates
This North Carolina native has been described as one for keeping his music at heart while spending long hours crafting its every measure so that it is more than ready to meet the ears of public audiences. Many of his melodies are described as showing some flavor from sounds of the 60s and 70s. Cates himself even describes some of his work as, "saying goodbye to no one." The popular music blog Daytrotter (daytrotter.com) covered Cates in a feature in late 2010 when writer Sean Moeller described his work as "It's music that sounds as if it's made by a man who is getting in touch with his personal owner's manual and figuring out exactly what it is that moves him and because of this attention to detail, everything that comes so sweetly to him, moves us."
